General and Laparoscopic Surgery:

The Division of General Surgery provides comprehensive surgical consultation and care in many subspecialties including colon and rectal surgery, trauma and burn, pediatric surgery, endocrine surgery and multidisciplinary hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery. Our skilled surgeons are trained in various specialties and strive towards ensuring quick recovery of the patients.

AUM Hospitals also offers Day Care surgery packages at economical prices, where patients are free to walk home on the same day of the surgery, thus reducing the length of stay in the hospital, risk of infection and costs.

Laparoscopic Surgery, also known as minimally invasive surgery, includes operations within the abdominal or pelvic cavities.

There are a number of advantages to the patient with laparoscopic surgery versus an open procedure. These include:-

  • Reduced blood loss, which reduces the risk of needing a blood transfusion.
  • Smaller incision, which reduces pain and shortens recovery time.
  • Less pain, leading to less pain medication needed.
  • Although procedure time is slightly longer, hospital stay is less, and often within a day patients are discharged
  • Reduced exposure of internal organs to possible external contaminants thereby reduced risk of acquiring infections.
